Live for Speed multiplayer allows a player to take over the car of another player during a race - in other words, do a driver swap.

How to take over a car

The driver on track needs to have made a pit stop before you can take over their car.

  1. 1 Join a multiplayer server.
  2. 2 Press N until you see the connection list at the bottom right.
  3. 3 Find the driver in the list. In advance, before they have finished a pit stop, press the T button next to their name. Once you have pressed it, it will change it's colour to bright green. The driver on track will see "[your name] wants to take over" in the chat.
  4. 4 The driver on track must enter the pit lane and make a pit stop.
  5. 5 Once the pit stop is finished, the driver on track must stand still and do not move the car. They press N until they see the connection list, then they press the green T next to their own name. If they try to press it earlier, they will see a message saying "You can only change drivers when a pit stop is finished".
