Cars are selected in the car selection screen after going to Garage from the game lobby screen. Cars can be controlled by real players or by the AI drivers.

There is a total of 20 cars in LFS (most require an S1/S2 license). Most can be loosely divided into different classes to keep racing fair and fun. There are 4 real licensed cars, the rest are fictional.

For S3 users, there is a vehicle mods system in place, where you can create your own cars in LFS.

Cars in LFS are often referred by their 3-character short names. For example, the XF GTI is abbreviated as XFG. These short names are used in car skin and setup filenames, reported via the InSim protocol. They can also be seen in the session results table in game, on the setups page or league listings.Cars are selected in the car selection screen after going to Garage from the game lobby screen.
