The VW Scirocco is based on the real 3rd generation Volkswagen Scirocco from 2008.

Announcement

Live for Speed was used by Turtle Entertainment and Volkswagen to showcase the new Scirocco in Leipzig Games Convention in 2008. A competition using LFS was held and the prize was a real Volkswagen Scirocco car.[1] The news was spotted by an LFS forum user who shared a link to the Turtle Entertainment article about the event. Scawen confirmed the development the following day, claiming that they had to make it quickly in time for the Games Convention as a part of the deal and further testing and refinement would follow before releasing it to the public.[2]

The official LFS announcement was posted on 12 December 2008.[3] The news was accompanied by an introduction video titled The VW Scirocco, recreated inside Live for Speed, showcasing the car's exterior, interior and driving at South City.
