Track maps

What about some trackmaps? They would be nice on the page, and give some more info about the tracks. The U30/V-maps could be fine. (Edit: hm, seems that they aren't saved anywhere, only rendered on-the-fly or something) --Yaamboo 21:18, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, some trackmaps would be nice. You can either make screenshots of the ones in the track selection page or try to write a program which draws the maps based on the pth files (that's what lfs does). --GP4Flo 21:48, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, I just made a test on my own page, with a picture I borrowed from the official site and edited slightly. The colours should be modified and the size too, but the idea could be a bit like it. --Yaamboo 21:49, 11 November 2006 (UTC) Edit: Made another one, a bit like the old racingcircuits.net trackmaps.

But be aware, that there are no S2 trackmaps on the official site! So better take screenshots of the track selection menu and edit them. --GP4Flo 22:37, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Well, I just made all the Blackwood combinations in that racingcircuits.net form, which is quite nice and so. They can be seen at my page. The thing with them is that they take quite some space. Should we make separate pages for the different tracks, where there could be some additional information and the different configurations? The "Tracks" page could then be used simply for a quick glimpse of the tracks. --Yaamboo 17:23, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, creating sub articles for each track area would probably be the best solution, like this one: Blackwood --GP4Flo 18:40, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I've now made some modifications, including a cool template at the bottom of the page, and track data for Blackwood and Westhill. If it can be done like that, I'll edit the rest of the pages too. :) --Yaamboo 20:08, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, that looks cool. Go for it! :) --GP4Flo 20:46, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Trackmaps are now implemented to every page. --Yaamboo 13:57, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Great job! I think the remaining track descriptions should also be moved to the sub pages. And one suggestion to your track maps: With some anti aliasing they would look even better. :) --GP4Flo 15:28, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

The antialiasing is missing just because of their copying of racingcircuits.net, which had similar-style maps. If somebody wants to make better ones, go ahead ;) I'm done with these :P --Yaamboo 19:14, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Track pics

Those planet pictures are very good examples what that duo can do, but I'd think picture(s) where you can see the track and it's atmosphere would be much better here. Krane 17:43, 25 September 2006 (BST)

I agree with Krane. --Geeman1 19:11, 25 September 2006 (BST)

Ok, can someone take some nice screenshots and upload them? --GP4Flo 19:55, 25 September 2006 (BST)

I've uploaded two FE and one SO pic out of my collection of desktop backgrounds. They're modified with a little bloom. What do you think of em? SO, FE1, FE2 -- AndroidXP 20:24, 25 September 2006 (BST)

Nice, but they somehow look a bit blurred to me. Did you resize them? If yes, I would recommend to upload the original screens, because the wiki resizes them automatically. --GP4Flo 16:12, 26 September 2006 (BST)

Like I've said, I added a little bloom, so the very bright parts "shine" a bit now. But you're right, too, I've resized them to 1024x768. The originals are in 1600x1200 -- AndroidXP 16:17, 26 September 2006 (BST)

I'd rather use unmodified, nice looking screenshots. --GP4Flo 16:50, 26 September 2006 (BST)

Okay, here's the (almost) unmodified HiRes version of South City: SC HiRes -- AndroidXP 17:28, 26 September 2006 (BST)

That's nice, now the other ones. ;) --GP4Flo 19:12, 26 September 2006 (BST)

Okay, FE1, FE2 and a BL one uploaded too. Please keep in mind that I didn't make those shots to show characteristic track parts or a certiain mood, I rather tried to get a good scenerey with as few graphics oddities as possible, for their main use as background pics. I also tried Aston, Westhill and Kyoto ones, but neither had a especially nice scenerey (or I just didn't spend enough time to find one), and while I do have a few more screens, I don't think they really fit.
If someone else made some other shots, probably showing a bit more of the track, that wouldn't be a bad idea at all, too ;)
--AndroidXP 21:48, 26 September 2006 (BST)

Just upload the other screens as well, so we can add them until someone else manages to make better screenshots. --GP4Flo 14:54, 27 September 2006 (BST)

Done -- AndroidXP 18:31, 27 September 2006 (BST)

Nice, I've added them to the track pages. What about Autocross? --GP4Flo 18:41, 27 September 2006 (BST)
