Welcome to our to do list! If you want to help and don't know where to start, this is the place for you. We need all possible help to add what is missing and fix what is messed up, and the intention of this page is exactly point out these things. You can even edit this page to add more tasks and suggest changes.
Add tasks in the appropriate headings using bullet lists. Once a task is completed, strike through the text using <s></s> (like this). Completed tasks can be removed after a few months.
Files
- Look for files in the shared repository without summary and write one for each of them.
- Add categories if they are missing.
Categories
This part can contain both to-do items about the category content or pages on these categories.
- General
- Write content for empty categories (can be about a subject or explaining the category content).
- Even rewrite or expand existing content in categories. They must be as complete as possible.
- Pages of cars:
- Expanded description of the car (the text located at the top).
- Overview section to talk more about the car features, design, appearance, etc.
- Add history and trivia section if possible.
- Move information that is not trivia to another section in the article.
- Add a gallery of car images at the bottom of the article.
- Pages of tracks:
- Add history and trivia section if possible.
- Add a gallery of track images at the bottom of the article.
Individual pages
- Unify the look of the tables with lists of commands. Maybe think of a more user-friendly way to present the parameters and examples of usage.
- Guide how to send a setup in multiplayer
- Create an infobox template for InSim packets.
- Add more definitions of terms related to LFS Editor.
- Add examples of creating moving parts, e.g. pop-up headlights, ignition key, spinning fan etc.
- Add View options section (show main, show subobs etc.).
- Add Test inputs section.
- Add a section about the "Cross-texture triangle found in LOD1 - mapping corrected" error and explain how to fix it.
- Add object attributes.
- Add a guide how to assign any command to a wheel button via Ctrl + / Alt + fields.
- Vehicle Mods - test mod links
- Add a section or a separate page with a guide how to set up the LFS protocol associations in order for the "TEST MOD" link at lfs.net to work.
- Add sections from assigning the skin ID onwards.
- Add mention of, or section for setting up app Fanaleds with LFS (for making use of on-wheel and dashboard lights, segment displays). Also might consider creating this as a separate article guide, with more generic information about making lights and displays work on any kind of wheel (those which are not supported by Fanaleds).
Wanted pages
- A list of common errors which can be seen in LFS, explaining what each error means and how to fix it. Examples:
- FATAL INSIM ERROR : BUFFER SIZE
- InSim closed : VISM VIEW
- InSim : password does not match your multiplayer admin password
- A tutorial how to do driver take overs in multiplayer, which can be useful for people new to league racing.
Split Game Lobby Screen, Garage Area and Car Settings and Track Selection sections into separate articles, because these don't belong to just single player. Also, they are screens, not game modes.
- Create articles from non-existing links in the list of guides. If you have any other ideas for new guides, add them into the list or create an article.
The in-game vehicle mods browser screen. Describe the interface, sorting and filtering options, testing and cleanup features.
- Some kind of a basic tutorial/guide, describing how to get into the mode and with what kind of device. For reference, here is a video with a short how-to with a Reverb G2 headset: Live for Speed: How to setup VR and test drive!. Obviously the article here should cover all 3D modes and be more detailed.
- Style guide for streamlining structure of league articles. Similarly to others in Category:Manual of style.
- A guide how to make a vehicle mod available offline using the test feature (copying mod folder and removing version suffix).
- Explain what tweak mods are, what is considered a tweak mod and what isn't, how to see them in the mods browser.
- List of noteworthy known in-game glitches or bugs.
Templates
- Create documentation subpage (similar to the one Template:Infobox track has), with a ready-to-copy sample and parameters with explanations.
- Implement optional insertion of linebreak between Nickname and LFSW (see for example
{{1st}}
).
