Dashboard lights
Light Name Description
LFS Editor - handbrake light.png Handbrake Shown when the handbrake is engaged. It is also shown when the car is placed onto the grid, even if handbrake is disallowed in the Allow tab.
LFS Editor - shift light.png Shift light Shown when it is the optimal time to shift up to a higher gear. This depends on the torque curve, which can be adjusted in the engine editor.
To use this light, go to the vehicle editor and enable the shift light option in Transmission / Audio tab.
This light is available only in cars with an internal combustion engine.
LFS Editor - engine damage light.png Engine damage Shown when the engine power is reduced due to over-revving the engine. If the engine damage is lower than 3%, this light is shown in yellow color. Higher engine damage results in a red light.
To use this light, go to the vehicle editor and enable the engine damage light option in Transmission / Audio tab.
This light is available only in cars with an internal combustion engine.
LFS Editor - traction control light.png Traction control Shown when the traction control is active (car has lost traction) or when traction control is disabled in car's setup.
To use this light, go to the vehicle editor and enable the traction control option in Transmission / Audio tab.
LFS Editor - ABS light.png ABS Shown when the ABS is active (car's wheels are locked) or when ABS is disabled in car's setup.
To use this light, go to the vehicle editor and enable the ABS option in Allow tab.
LFS Editor - pit limiter light.png Pit limiter Shown when pit speed limiter is active.
To use this light, go to the vehicle editor and enable the pit speed limiter option in Allow tab.
LFS Editor - high beam light.png High beam Shown when high beam is on.
To use this light, the 3D model of the vehicle must contain triangles using a special light color mapping l_side, l_head or l_high.
LFS Editor - low beam light.png Low beam Shown when low beam is on.
To use this light, the 3D model of the vehicle must contain triangles using a special light color mapping l_side, l_head or l_high.
LFS Editor - sidelights.png Sidelights Shown when sidelights are on.
To use this light, the 3D model of the vehicle must contain triangles using a special light color mapping l_side, l_head or l_high.
LFS Editor - shared indicators.png Shared indicator Shown when left or right indicators are on.
To see this option in the dashboard editor, the 3D model of the vehicle must contain triangles using one of the special light color mappings: l_rind, l_find, l_rsind, l_fsind.
You can switch to separate left and right indicator lights by clicking (click : SEPARATE).
LFS Editor - left indicator.png Left indicator Shown when left indicators are on.
To see this option in the dashboard editor, the 3D model of the vehicle must contain triangles using one of the special light color mappings: l_rind, l_find, l_rsind, l_fsind.
You can switch to a shared indicator light by clicking (click : SHARED).
LFS Editor - right indicator.png Right indicator Shown when right indicators are on.
To see this option in the dashboard editor, the 3D model of the vehicle must contain triangles using one of the special light color mappings: l_rind, l_find, l_rsind, l_fsind.
You can switch to a shared indicator light by clicking (click : SHARED).
LFS Editor - rear fog light.png Rear fog Shown when the rear fog light is on.
To use this light, the 3D model of the vehicle must contain triangles using a special color mapping l_rfog.
LFS Editor - front fog light.png Front fog Shown when the front fog light is on.
To use this light, the 3D model of the vehicle must contain triangles using a special color mapping l_ffog.
LFS Editor - oil pressure light.png Oil pressure Shown when the engine is stalled. Oil pressure is not simulated in LFS.
This light is available only in cars with an internal combustion engine.
LFS Editor - battery light.png Battery In a car with an internal combustion engine, it is shown when the engine is stalled.
In a car with an electric motor, it is shown when there is less than 5% of charge left in the battery.
LFS Editor - low fuel warning light.png Low fuel Shown when there is less than 5% of fuel left in the tank.
This light is available only in cars with an internal combustion engine.
LFS Editor - neutral light.png Neutral Shown when the car is in neutral gear.
This light is available only in cars with an internal combustion engine.
